I had the opportunity to be involved in a friendly art swap event called Love Your Work: Fan Art Swap.
The idea essentially being that you are a huge fan of an artist and you create fan work of them for them.
I normally wouldn’t blog about this type of event, because for me it’s just a bit of fun. An opportunity to fly off the handle and try something totally different that I wouldn’t normally do.
This time however, I had an image in my head so strong from the persons description that I had to proceed with my normal art style.
I love this picture!
I think there is something about it that not only represents the person ( I hope she agrees) but captures how I view things really well.
An almost dual state, seeing both sides of the same thing. Past and present.
Maybe this person just felt the same way I do and so our two worlds collided in her thoughts… or maybe I accidentally inserted myself into someone else’s world unintentionally.
Artists do have a habit of doing this, rude eh?
Who knows?
Are there any other art swap initiatives out there that you would recommend?
It’s refreshing to have something outside the projects you are working on, especially if the briefs are creative and fun 🙂
