This is a character I’ve designed for a children’s book, inspired by my 3 sons.
Each of my sons wanted different animals, ranging from an axolotl, through to foxes and lions.
He’s going to be telling stories and having adventures…
If I manage to get this going to it’s full potential, I’d like to achieve an alternative-looking theme, for kids with alternative parents. You never know, this in turn could create stories with different ideas. Ideas that could create a bridge between alternative and mainstream families.
It never ceases to amaze me, when I go down to my kids’ school that the majority of the parents look at me like I’m an eyesore, an outcast not meant to be anywhere near children. That after a coincidental conversation some are surprised that I’m actually just a guy that’s creative, with different interests. I’m still a parent just like them, with parent problems just like theirs. Maybe if they could learn that different lifestyles don’t necessarily mean dysfunctional home lives for kids, they wouldn’t stigmatize alternative looking parents.
Creative lifestyles beget creative children.
Hopefully you’ll see more of this little guy soon, however his story goes!
